Praise the Lord during the Coronavirus storm! To our precious brothers and sisters who are part of the Blessed Hope Chapel family. We want to encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, His Word, sharing the gospel, and praying for those who are hurting. The elders and I love you so much. Our highest priority is God’s glory and your spiritual and physical well-being in Christ.
Due to the fact that the federal government is not only calling Covid-19 a pandemic, but now recommending that groups no larger than 10 people meet together at one time (to stop the spread of the virus), we must modify the way we do church for a while. Praise the Lord that He has blessed the church with a beautiful live stream service. We want you to seriously consider getting together on Sunday mornings at 10:00AM (this will be our temporary start time until further notice) for the next few weeks, or perhaps longer (UPDATE: Until at least April 30), with one or two other families, making up groups of about 10 people or less, if possible, to watch the live stream. This way we are able to stay in the Word and not forsake the assembling of ourselves to get together as the Lord commanded in Hebrews 10:25.
It is vital that we get closer to the Lord and to one another at this time and not further apart. It is also vital that if you have symptoms, that you get taken care of or cleared to make sure you don’t infect others. This is also a great time to have fellowship with those who have no symptoms and to encourage each other in the word and have little Bible studies. If anyone ends up with the virus that we know, it will also be important to encourage them in Christ in a safe way.
Please be sure to catch the Wednesday night live stream at 7:30PM and find ways to fellowship on the Lord’s day by watching the live stream with a few others if possible. We believe you will find this to be a rewarding time.
Lastly, even though we are not meeting publicly, we still have to meet our financial needs as a church family, pay our rent, and support those in full-time ministry who are still working hard. You can use our Tithely Church App, or give online through our website, to give as the Lord leads.
We are praying that the Lord richly blesses you through this time. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).
In Christ’s great love,
Pastor Joe and the elders
I was wondering your opinion on the issue of the sabbath and whether the mosaic law still applies ? I am not trying to challenge your beliefs or attempting start an argument but just curious as to your point of view because I have been struggling with my self and the world up until recently I can now see the truth of the matter of the time being short and Have made the choice to serve the most high but am so confused by all the denominations and different doctrines being taught. I hope to hear back from you thank you.
We are happy to answer your question. It would be best to use our contact form and be specific about what issue you are referring to regarding the sabbath and the mosaic law. We do not believe we are required to worship on the sabbath (meaning Saturday specifically). Jesus Christ is now our sabbath rest. We are also not under the mosaic law, we are under the law of Christ, which is written on our hearts. If you have further questions, feel free to use our Contact Us form. God bless.
Hi Church
I am interested in visiting as I prayerfully seek God’s will for a new home church as the pillar and ground of the truth in my life.
Currently I am and have been a member of Nall Avenue Baptist Church Prarie Village Kansas but the doctrine of eternal security is held by all members I have gotten to know over the last year since joining, including our Pastor Joe Funderburk. Initially we agreed to disagree but three things basic issues have come to the forefront of my hearts convictions:
1. After hearing your Pastors message it appeared to me the whole New Testament warns against that doctrine.
2. They practice ceasationism which has left many dry and hopeless when it comes to prayer needs regarding health and God’s leading.
3. I am convinced the unified preparedness of these last days, end times in which we live is critical to not being deceived when the antichrist is revealed to God’s elect he will simultaneously deceive and seduce many who know the Lord but are uninformed and or misinformed scripturally.
I checked out flights and round trips are reasonable. So I am interested in visiting for a few days , worshipping and perhaps in readable staying with a member who can share the deeper aspects , strengths and weaknesses of the congregation so as to understand and assess in the Spirit if God is indeed leading me to serve him with you all?
Hi Borney, we will have someone reach out to you. God bless.
