Hi, my name is Jan. I just listened to this message and really enjoyed it. It convicted me. I’m looking for a church to attend. I just quit going to Calvary Chapel because of the worship music—mostly taken from Hillsong, Bethel, etc. I just found out that the source churches this music is from has some very bad theology. Gnosticism and heresy being two of them. I don’t have the discernment to hear some of the bad theology found in the lyrics. But also the music ITSELF has some hypnotic qualities to it, which I see as subliminal. Don’t like that nor want it. Music is so very powerful I just cannot abide it. I also don’t stand with female pastors which is a contradiction in terms, to me, nor allowing LGBTQ people who aren’t repentant about it. Of course I realize they need to hear The Word too, but if they attend and are unrepentant about it, I can’t abide that as well. I know I am a sinner and I probably sound harsh about these things, but I just can’t help it. So I was wondering if it’s ok for me to come to your church, with my stipulations in mind. I’m desperate to find this kind of church. Thank you and may the Lord bless you!

We have the same convictions about the subjects you mentioned, but we also know that people might have blind spots about some of these things, so we speak the truth in love and, by the grace of God, it is our desire to correct in a spirit of gentleness (Galatians 6:1).
